26 September 2009 Blues v Scarlets, Cardiff City Stadium - Half-time Game The boys thoroughly enjoyed playing at the half time interval of the Blues v Scarlets game. 25 October 2009 Llantwit Fardre 9 v Beddau 5 In weather conditions described by the coaches as "challenging" and by spectators as "atrocious" the Under 8's were still able to make use of the astroturf and entertain local rivals Beddau. The boys played extremely well in notching up a 9 - 5 victory. Strong and elusive running combined with a big improvement in tagging were the key factors in a very encouraging performance. Well played everyone!
8 November 2009 Llantwit Fardre 7 v Bridgend Sports 4 The Under 8's played on the astroturf and it seemed to suit our boys and girls style of play. There was some excellent passing and running and good teamwork and committed tagging forced some turnovers. 14 February 2010 Llantwit Fardre 4 v Pentyrch 6 Our boys and girls competed very well against a physically larger and skillful Pentyrch side. They responded well to falling behind to some well worked Pentyrch tries. Tries from Ben (2), Will Huggs and Josh meant that Llantwit were always still in contact but eventually they came up just short. Gareth and Andrew were both impressed with the performance.

21 March 2010 Round Robin at Pontypridd Under 8's - what a great day for the Under 8's. On paper a round robin against Pontypridd and Abercwmboi looked like mission impossible but thankfully the game wasn't played on paper! The boys and girls were on fire today and played fantastically well in drawing 7 - 7 against our hosts Pontypridd. There were tries for Rhys Barratt (3), Will Huggs (2) and Ben (2). Next up were Abercwmboi and against a very good side we were not disgraced in going down 10 - 4. A first try for Aroon was well deserved. Other try scorers were Rhys B (2) and Ben. Bring on tour and Aberaeron!!
28 March 2010 Tour - New Quay, West Wales Our boys and girls continue to flourish and are playing an entertaining brand of tag rugby with everyone getting involved. Again there was evidence that the hard work in training is paying off and the passing in particular certainly impressed Aberaeron's coach. The game was closely fought and the lead changed hands several times. Eventually tries from Will Huggs, Aroon Kanda, Ben Burnell and Rhys Barratt (2) ensured Llantwit squeezed home by 5 tries to 4.
A big thank you to Aberaeron for hosting us. We look forward to returning in the future. Finally we hope the boys and girls enjoyed tour. We were proud of the way they behaved both on and off the field and were a real credit to the club. And parents.............you were pretty good too!!!
11 April 2010 Llantwit Fardre 9 v Penygraig 9 Under 8's - there was a thriller in the sunshine at Cae Fardre this morning as Penygraig were our visitors. The lead changed hands several times and tries from Oliver Wilde, Niall Arthur, Will Thomas, Will Huggins (2), Ben Burnell (2) and Rhys Hughes (2) ensured that the game ended in a 9 - 9 draw.
16 May 2010 Abercwmboi Festival A slightly under strength team battled manfully against some very good and physically bigger teams,. There were flashes of brilliance and further evidence of the passing skills that Gareth and Andrew have worked so hard to develop. Unfortunately they did not have enough firepower to defeat Beddau, Newbridge or Abercwmboi but with so many of the team eligible for tag again next season the future looks bright. Finally a special well done to Niall, Connor and Jade who will be hanging up their belts and tags and we wish them well as they embark on the next stage of their rugby career.
Finally a big thank you to Abercwmboi for inviting us to their first festival a big well done from the Under 8 's to Llantwit Under 7's for emerging as tournament winners.
