Mini & Junior Festival New Dates
Our festival dates have had to be changed due to unforeseen circumstances. The new dates are as follows:
JUNIORS (U13's - U16's) - Now on 25 April 2010
MINIS (U7's - U12's) - Now on 26 September 2010.
There are NO games on MAY BANK HOLIDAY as originally planned.

New Club House Planning Permission Granted
Permission to build new club house has been given the green light. This modern functional facility will be located at Central Fields. More details will be posted once available. What fantastic news - congratulations to all those involved and who have worked hard to make this possible.

Well Done Lewis... Congratulations to Lewis from the U14's for raising £130 for the sponsored run. Not only has he managed to get the £30 gift certificate for raising the most but he has also earned 75% back towards his tour price £97.50, so well worth the effort. Lewis was presented with his certificate during training on 3 Nov 2009, and received rapturous applause for his efforts from all his team mates.

Lewis is now going to use his £30 to purchase a pink supporters shirt, and we're sure he'll look very nice.

Registration & Fun Day There was a good turn out at Central Park on 6th September. The day included an opportunity for team photo's, a Sponsored Run, Tag Rugby and much fun was had by one and all! Parents even got involved in the games!

All players were encouraged to collect sponsorship for the Fun Run as 75% of any money raised by each player goes towards their tour fund (see later for further details). A gift voucher, redeemable at the club shop, was awarded to the individual who raised the most money.

Mini & Junior Annual fees Fees are remaining same as last season, ie £25 - families with more than one playing child will be charged £25 for the first child and £10 for each sibling. Each £25 fee now include Social Membership of LFRFC for 1 adult and the subsequent benefits that this attracts (reduced bar prices etc).

Please pay your fees as soon as possible to your coach or team manager. Why not pay at the registration day?

LFRFC Membership Parents – please consider joining the club as either a social member (£5) or as a vice-president (£40). You can download the New Membership Form HERE, please complete and pass back to your coach with the appropriate fee. The next couple of years will be very significant in the history of the club as we look to relocate the clubhouse to the site of the current changing rooms at Central Park. Planning permission is currently being sought and further details will be available in due course.

On the playing front, this season the 1st XV are playing in SWALEC League Division 2 East after gaining promotion last season. Come and support the boys at Central Park when you can – the league campaign kicks off with a home match against Mountain Ash on Saturday 5th September.

Please support the club as often as possible – join as members, attend social functions, come to the club to watch and enjoy the atmosphere of the international matches and most importantly please return to the club after our mini & junior matches each Sunday. Please encourage your opposition to also come back for food and a drink.

Tour & Fundraising Events To encourage as many people as possible to go on our annual tour, we will again be operating our “pay back” scheme. This scheme rewards those players and parents who support our fundraising events by giving them credit towards the cost of their tour. If you put in lots of effort to help the section raise money you could find your family going on tour for a minimal cost or even nothing!!

The scheme operates at our fundraising events throughout the season as follows:

Raffle – each player will receive 75% of any money they raise towards their tour costs. e.g. sell £40 worth of raffle tickets and you will receive £30 credit towards your tour.

Fun Run – each player will receive 75% of any money they raise towards their tour costs. e.g. raise £20 of sponsorship and you will get £15 credit towards your tour.

Race Night and other similar fundraising evenings75% of any profit made at each event will go to the tour fund. These events will be generally be adult-only with the “tour credit” being split between all those players whose parents attend. e.g. if the event makes £600 profit and 30 players have a parent attending, then each of those 30 players will get £15 credit towards their tour i.e. 75% of the profit (£450) gets split between 30 players to give £15 each.

Warning - Please be aware that this scheme only allows credit towards your tour costs – if you do not go on tour, you CANNOT claim the money back in cash – sorry!
