Hi Everyone,
Well we're all back safely from tour - hope everyone had a great time. If you'd like to publish some of your photos on the site then just let us know. We'll produce a gallery per age group so we can all share the fun!
Itinerary
Posted: 13/03/2011:
Departure: For those on the bus, it will depart from Cae Fardre car park @ 5:30pm – please do not be late! We suggest that everyone meets @ 5:00pm to avoid missing the bus!
On arrival: For those travelling by car, check-in is available from 3:00pm although you are welcome to go onsite prior to 3:00pm to utilise their facilities. The resort is: Holiday Resort Unity, Coast Road, Brean Sands, Somerset, TA8 2RB www.hru.co.uk
Please quote your name and the caravan reference number given above when you check in. All your details have been forwarded to the resort to enable them to prepare your ‘welcome pack’ in advance, meaning that it should be a fairly quick process!
Caravans – Bedding is provided and indeed the beds should be made up for your arrival. Gas & electric is included - most are centrally heated, those without will have panel heaters. Please bring toilet rolls, kitchen necessities etc.
Saturday - Individual age groups will be making their respective arrangements for a 'fun day'. See your coach for further details.
Next door to the site is Brean Leisure Park – this is open 11:00am to 5:00pm. Wristbands or single ride tickets can be purchased.
The swimming pool will be open – the new complex may not be complete, but the old pool will be available if this is the case.
Our evening social gathering in “RJs” will be fancy dress – please feel free to participate to whatever extent you feel comfortable with!
Sunday We are playing Burnham-on-Sea RFC. Their club is approximately 3 miles from our resort. For those on the bus, it will leave at 10:00am.
For those travelling by car, the details are: Burnham-on-Sea RFC, Stoddens Road, Burnham-on-Sea www.burnhamonsearfc.org
Basic directions – turn left out of the resort and follow this road for approx 2 miles until you reach a lighthouse! Turn left onto Stoddens Road. The Sports Association grounds are approximately 1 mile down this road on the left. Follow the drive to the car park and clubhouse.
The younger age groups will be playing first (KO 10:30) – it would be appreciated if we could all be there to support them, as they will us!
Each player will be given a Club shirt – please ensure you bring this as we want all players to wear the shirts AFTER the match. Please travel in playing kit and ensure you have adequate warm/waterproof gear as we may have a wait before we play!
Departure: for those on the bus, it will be returning direct from Burnham RFC at approximately 4:30pm. The bus will not be returning to the resort, so please ensure that you check out and bring all your belongings with you in the morning.
For those travelling home by car, could we politely ask you to stay on at the club after our match is finished to enjoy the hospitality offered to us by Burnham RFC? Please show your support, as the section may want to return in future years.
Monday For those staying on until Monday, you must checkout by 10:00am. Have a safe trip home!
Please note: Whilst we want and indeed encourage everyone to have a great time and enjoy themselves, we would ask that you are mindful of other guests staying at the camp.
A substantial amount has been paid as a security/behaviour bond. If anyone causes any damage or a disturbance that the camp feel is unacceptable then they may be asked to leave. You will be responsible for making your own travel arrangements home. Other sanctions may also be applied to the individuals concerned.
Please keep up the good name of Llantwit Fardre RFC.
Finally – some advance notice! British Summer Time starts on Sunday 27th March and therefore we will all lose an hour overnight! Please remember to move your clocks forward by an hour otherwise you may miss kick-off!!!

ACCOMMODATION SECURED

Posted: 24/11/10: We can now confirm that our accommodation for the 2011 tour will be at Holiday Resort Unity, Coast Road, Brean Sands, Somerset TA8 2RB. Click on the above image or HERE to visit their web site for further information on facilities available. 95 caravans have been booked and all but one age group are touring, so thanks to all those who have shown their commitment - we're sure this year will a great success as previous years. No more bookings are being placed by the club, anyone wishing to tour who has not already booked will need to do so direct with HRU.
FANCY DRESS There will again be a fancy dress night on the Saturday so ask your coaches what theme your age group are following, go on you know you want too.....

IMPORTANT NEWS
Posted: 4/11/10: Unfortunately our services for the Roundtable Fireworks Display are NO LONGER REQUIRED due to reasons beyond our control. Obviously this means the event is not available as an official tour fundraiser. If you have already volunteered for this event please accept our apologies and we look forward to you assistance in other fundraiser events.
TOUR LATEST...
As most of you are now aware we are currently organising next years annual tour. The dates have been set for Friday 25th March 2011 – Sunday 27th March. We will aim to depart approximately 17.00 / 17.30.
Destination is still to be confirmed, however it is likely to be North Somerset. This is to ensure we get maximum benefit from the holiday park, wherever it may be.
The next steps...
We must have a full non-refundable deposit* of £50 per family by Sunday 21st November with the remaining balance payable by Sunday 9th January 2011. The price per unit/family (accom ONLY) is likely to be £140. We realise the dates are far from ideal for these payments but they are simply out of our control.
It's not all bad news – YOU can, of course reduce the cost by taking part in the official fund raising events. All participants at these events will automatically qualify for the 75% back scheme. Many people who toured last year did so free of charge or for a vastly reduced amount, simply by taking part. It’s up to you. Opportunities this year will include:
As in previous years it is our intention to use buses. Whilst we will endeavour to keep the cost to a minimum there will inevitably be an additional cost £15 p/p. You are of course free to use your own vehicles.

Official Tour Events
For all official fundraising events 75% of monies will be given back to the individuals who have taken part on a proportionate basis. Eg £1000 pound raised at event attended by 50 people. 75% = £750 divided by number of attendees = £ 15 per person. or if you sell £100 worth of raffle tickets you'll have £75 back. It is more than achievable to tour for FREE. Current events planned include:

As ever, the committee will endevour to provide as many opportunities as possible for people to reduce the cost of their tour but ultimately it is down to you to take, and make the most of them.
Last years tour was a great success in many ways but mainly because so many age groups and people went. Lets make this years even better.
